The process involves crafting a tea bowl on a potter's wheel, allowing it to dry slightly, followed by carving the bottom and chamfering the body using a knife. Chamfering introduces variations in the glaze color when applying the black glaze, accentuating the visual texture created by the concave and convex surfaces resulting from the chamfering. By layering persimmon glaze over the black-glazed rim and letting it naturally flow down to the body of the tea bowl in the flame of the climbing kiln, a natural and waterfall-like appearance is achieved. This tea bowl highlights the beautiful expression of persimmon glaze, and the piece emanates a sense of tranquility and elegance. Perfect for use in the tea ceremony.
